Ysapy

Sup sup sup!

Another week gone. I stayed in Ysapy so one more change here at least! I'm still with Elder Harward and he's been here longer than me in this area so I might actually be here for another change after this. I might end my mission in Ysapy! That's just crazy.

We had some good stuff this week. Some more investigators came to church and are preparing well for their baptisms! We´ve been working with a less active member lady who has a super addiction to coffee. She's more addicted to coffee than alcoholics are to booze. Seriously. She normally has at least 6 cups of coffee before lunchtime, and it just keeps climbing from there. We gave her a priesthood blessing and she's gone for over a day so far without drinking! Yay! So we´re doing work there. Also, we finally got permission for a boy to get baptized that's been coming to church for over 25 weeks in a row. He's getting baptized on the 12th. Yeah! I'm so persuasive :D I did have lots of help. I'm very grateful for that one.

Today we played some sweet soccer with part of the zone. The first game was Latins vs. Americans. I represented the states well with 8 goals. Ahhhh yeah! It was a good game. Afterwards I got sick and puked so now I'm not feeling so hot but yeah. My head kinda hurts and all that. I should be better tomorrow. I don't know what got me sick. Random illnesses seem to happen here a lot.

We're having some good success here in Ysapy so the month of May should be a good one for sure. I'm really excited to keep working here. Woop!

The church is true. I've seen too many miracles in the past week to not know that. Keep being good everyone. I love you all!

Love,
Elder Morris

Ysapy

Oh hello!

I hope everything is going well for those of you up north. It was a pretty intense week with some migraines and other random nausea but we've all recovered and everyone is doing well.

This week church was really good. We´ve been working with a family for a week now, and 4 of them came to church with us. And they are super legit. We had 3 other investigators come too so it was a good week for people in church. A few of them wanted to see the baptismal font after the meetings and then there they said that they wanted to get baptized! Yeah! We still have a lot to teach them, but I'm really optimistic. I just hope changes tonight doesn't change any plans. They all read, and they really liked church so everything is going well. They have a mom that wants to go to church but is in a wheelchair and the roads here are like cobblestone gone wrong, so we can't push her. We'll have to set something up so she can come to church too. Anywho, it was a good day in church.

Recent convert Vidal got the priesthood on Sunday so now he's a legit Priest! He's so much happier now and it's just awesome to see the difference that the Gospel has made in his life. Now he's just pleased as punch and everything is going well.

For Pday today we went to Itaugua to look around at the things they have there. It wasn't anything too crazy, but it was a nice relaxing day. We'll see what changes has in store for us tonight.

It's just been business as normal down here. We found a lot of new people that are super cool. They are just super anxious to learn more and more. So I'm hoping that everything continues really well with them. We taught some really interesting lessons this week, which I have recorded in my journal for a good story later. Everything is just swell. I love you all!

Love,
Elder Morris

Ysapy

Oh why hello everyone!

It was a pretty good week down here in Ysapy. We finally had the baptism of Vidal Notario so that was the highlight of the week. He got confirmed on Sunday so now he's a full fledged member of the Church! Yeah! Now we get to work with him to prepare for the temple in a year.

The weather has started to cool down again so we'll be leaving the super heat pretty soon I think. It's rained a couple of times so that may have been the only reason why it got cooler. I dunno. We'll see. We only have one more week in the change so we'll also see there what happens. Changes are crazy!

Today was a really cool Pday. First off in the morning we got contacted by Jehova´s Witnesses. I would give them a B on their contacting skills. They may not have tried very hard because they knew exactly who we were. One of them looked really sad. :O Then after that we went to a hill called Cerro Ko´i. It's supposedly a super rare rock formation of which there are only 2 in the world. So that was cool. We climbed and took some sweet pictures. Yeah! I lost my name badge though :( The wild jungles of Paraguay have claimed my identity. Nooo! It was super fun though. Good Pday.

The work here continues to go well. We found some sweet new people this week to work with. Hopefully they decide that being saved is important to them and we'll have some progression. That'd be sweet. Ahhhh yeah! Other than that, it's all just magic and sunshine. I did get a package from the Young Women or something from the home ward so thank them for that. It was awesome. Yeah! I use the bandaids for my toe :D

I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Keep praying and being good!

Love,

Elder Morris

Ysapy

So I had an email that was from cyberspace saying that you may not have receive my last mass email. If you didn't I'm sorry. I sent one!

Well semana santa is done thankfully. Easter in the states is quite fun, but down here it means nobody is home or wants to talk to you. It's sweet. They all make a ton of chipa as well so we ate our fill in chipa this week. We actually asked for chipa while contacting when people didn't want to talk to us. They usually gave us some chipa at least. They are nice people :D We didn't have any fun church program or anything which was sad, but it's okay.

The toe is healing nicely. I didn't mass announce it, but I went in for surgery last Monday for my toe. Some painful toe shots and 3 stitches later, I'm able to walk and everything is nice. I hope I don't have a troll toe for the rest of my life, but we'll see how that goes. Don't get ingrown toenails.

Other coolness, we went to the temple this week! It was my final regularly scheduled temple trip in Paraguay! Gasp! I'll get to go again with a family from Posta Leiva when they get sealed, and then one more time with my group right before we come home. It was a good experience to recharge the batteries again. And because they don't have very much help in the temple, we as missionaries get to do a lot more things. We get to do temple worker type things which is fun.

Today we went to Aregua to look around. As it turns out, there is nothing there. There is an old abandoned train that is now inhabited by hobos, and there are poorly painted clay pots to buy. I wanted to get one, but I never found one that was even remotely close to not ghetto. Dang it. Oh well.

2 more weeks in this change and then we'll see what happens then. Until then we shall just keep on working hard and waiting for miracles! Yeah! I love you all and I hope you have a good week!

Love,
Elder Morris

Ysapy

Oh hey everyone!

Gen con has come and gone! The next time conference happens I'll be watching it with some of you. That is just too weird. Enough of that.

This week was pretty good. Gen con was of course the highlight for us down here. For the first time in the mission, I got to see the Priesthood session. (except for when I was there...in the choir...singing...yeah!) It was pretty awesome. There were indeed a lot of talks about families and things like that. My favorite talks were from presidente Uchtdorf, Elder Holland, and Elder Ballard. No judging, no envy, and focus on families. That's some good stuff. I was pleased as punch. Also my favorite family from my old area of Posta Leiva came to visit me and they brought me bananas and corn bread which was nice. They are getting married in the temple within the next couple of months. They just barely started temple prep, so I'm stoked for that.

We found some really cool new people this week so I'm excited to work with them. A cool guy named Vidal should also be getting baptized this week, so I'm hoping and praying that everything keeps going well with him.

As for the toe, it's all getting taken care of so it's all good there. I also cut my hair today so I'm lookin fly. Word.

I still can't even believe how fast time is going by. We're already halfway through another change here in Ysapy and the work keeps chugging along. I've also noticed how I can't spell when I was doing my conference notes. Spanish has kind of ruined me. Oh no!

I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Everything is going well here, and I'm excited to keep on working. Loves!

Love,

Elder Morris
