Oh why hello everyone.
This week was kind of exciting because it was 200 years of Paraguay existence! Woo! Also Miley Cyrus came to Asuncion. She didn't speak any Spanish or Guarani at all, so people don't really like her right now. They say she's a bad person! I think it's funny how she's come to Latin America and doesn't even say hola or anything. What a champ!
Also for the Bicentenario of Paraguay they tried to break the world record for longest flag. They got a flag that was 22km long, but it didn't count in the Guiness Book of Records because all the young kids and people signed the flag before it was measured so I thought that was pretty funny. They wrote how cool their soccer teams were and stuff like that, and now they don't get to go in the records! Also, they interviewed a model on tv and they asked how the Bicentenario was going. She said that it was pretty unorganized but next year's Bicentenario will be much better! Oh sigh. She also said that Paraguay had around 6,000 people. She is most certainly not winning any Miss South Jordan pageants! Hey oh!
Other than that, it was a normalish week. It was really sad to work all week just to have everyone say they were leaving for Mothers day (it's one week later here) but other than that it was good. We made Ines and Norberto brownies for Mothers day which was fun. They'd never had them before so it was just magical. Elder Sperry gave a good talk on Sunday about mothers. What a champ! And we had to go to Asuncion this wednesday for some paper signing and on the way back the ruta was closed for a parade so we had to take some sweet back roads to get back on track. Our bus man took his own route and we got lost sorta and it took like 45 minutes longer than normal, but it was pretty fun at least. Friday the 13th passed without harm. Other than that, it was a good week without too many incidents. Oh and also, we had a less active member tell us she didn't go to church cause she poke her belly button too badly or something like that. It's better in Spanish. "No me fui porque toque mal mi ombligo" Yeah! Also, my shoes and stuff arrived and all is well for my feet! Thanks for all that good stuff! I think that's all team. I love you all and hope that it's going magically back home!
