Emboscada

Why hello everyone,

Another week gone in Emboscada, and the cold has come to stay it seems. Oooooh boy! Also, changes happen this Wednesday, but we still don´t know them so I don´t have any exciting news there. But, my MTC comp got a special change last week to a place called Curuguaty, and his first day there he got mugged haha. Oh dear that´s going to be rough for him there I think.

There are all sorts of changes going on in the mission. Lots of areas are being closed and stuff because not too many missionaries are coming on Wednesday to replace old ones, but then in September more than 30 are coming, so it´s just going to be nuts! As far as news go, another non eventful week has passed. But, the other day we were walking past a San Juan (some sort of weird traditional party thing they do here) and saw some crazy stuff. In San Juans they have a giant pole that´s been greased and people try to climb and get prizes, and there are flaming balls that they kick around, and all sorts of other crazy stuff. They burn a big stuffed Judah and shoot fireworks at him and stuff. But anyway, we were walking past and watched them kick the flaming balls around. It´s pretty nuts. People were getting hit in the face and falling over, and hitting babies of moms that were walking through, and little toddlers catching their pants on fire. Only in Paraguay. The guy that was lighting the balls and kicking them into the crowds was drunk, which didn´t really help much either. It was too cool.

The work here in Emboscada is really different from Posta Leiva, so I´m still trying to do my best out here in this little branch. And, this week we moved houses to one that is much better. The other one, you had to study outside and stuff and it was freezing and I wanted to die, but now we moved and it´s nice and cozy. :D I don´t really want to move anymore though. That´s twice in a month. Too much moving!

The American Cup is going down right now, (soccer tourney) so I´ll keep you guys updated on how Paraguay is doing! They played against Ecuador and it ended in a tie. Yeah soccer! And today is the 4th of July! But, I´m with a Latin and he doesn´t care at all obviously. So he didn´t do anything cool. But, other than that, life goes on down here and it´s just peachy. But, I love you all back home. Keep on keeping on and doing the right things. God will bless you for it.

Love,
Elder Morris
