Oh hello!
So changes came and there are some new things going on! Elder Palacios went to San Lorenzo and now I´m training! My new comp is fresh from the MTC and his name is Elder Milne from Sandy. It´s pretty interesting being with a new elder again, but lots of fun. So far he´s not a big fan of Paraguayan food, but he´ll have to come around sooner or later or 2 years is going to be long. We´re working hard and both learning all sorts of new things every day. His first week was pretty interesting. We were contacting in a super poor part of our area and found a man sitting outside of his house. We clapped and he started yelling at us to leave now and never come back and things like that. Elder Milne couldn´t understand what was happening so I was translating kind of, and then the man ran inside, and I felt the very strong need to walk really really fast away. I grabbed Elder Milne and we sorta started jogging away and the man came back with a pistol! I yelled that we were very sorry and he stopped pointing the gun at me. It was pretty scary, but obviously the Lord got us out of there unharmed :D It makes for a good first week story for Elder Milne. Don´t worry, mom. :)
Conference was a little difficult for us down here. We had some severe satellite issues, but luckily we have a techy elder down here that had all the right cords to route the projector through the internet. The bad news is we had to watch everything in Spanish. That was not fun for all the new elders in our zone, including Elder Milne. They mostly just sat and stared at nothing haha. Awww. There were lots of good talks, and I´m excited to see them in paper form in a couple months. I seemed to gather that the laws of God are eternal and never changing. That´s cool to remember. Two of our investigators came with us to conference on Sunday so, they´re preparing well for their baptisms on the 15th of October so I´m pretty stoked for them. It´s going to be sweet!
Other than that, it´s just normal down here. Three of my senior comps are now back in the States, which is kind of weird for me. One of them gave me a tie though so I get to continue wearing it here in Paraguay. It´s all sorts of hot here which is no fun. We cleaned our house really well today, and killed all the spiders living over Elder Milne´s bed. He didn´t seem to think them living was a good idea. He also found his first tarantula under his desk this week. He´s had a pretty traumatic first week now that I think about it. I´m a pretty bad trainer I guess haha. Anywho, everything is going great down here! Now we live in a clean little house, free of spiders! I hope you all have an amazing week full of good things. I love you all, and you´re always in my prayers.
Love,
Elder Morris
