Ysapy

Hello everyone!

I hope everything is going well for all of you back home. Nothing much has changed around here. Elder Manu is still sick and so we're still living with them and doing divisions every day to work both sides of our branch. It's getting pretty hard because we all just want to focus on our areas, but we have to keep helping cause we're not mean. We're hoping he'll get better soon or something. I've only worked full days in my area like 6 times in the past 3 weeks. We're trying our best to visit everyone.

I had a talk on Sunday which was fun. It was the first time in over 6 months that I've spoken in a group of more than 10 people. I even used a microphone. Wow! I spoke on what it means to be truly converted and things like that. I didn't speak for very long because they ran out of time. The first speaker was out of control and spoke for a really long time. Everything went well so I won't complain. We also had a zone conference this week so it was just full of exciting things.

As far as the work goes, all is well. If what I'm writing doesn't make sense, I'm sorry. This computer has spell check but it's in Spanish so every single word is underlined in red. It's really distracting. We have lots of investigators nearing baptism which is just really exciting. Hopefully we'll be having 2 baptisms this Saturday, and some more in the works still. Yeah!

It's been raining a lot this week which is a nice change from the heat. It's super humid, but not too hot so we survive.

Other than that, it's just business as normal. One day I'll be able to work in my own area for more than half a day, but until then we'll keep trooping on. I love you all and I hope you have a great week!

Love,
Elder Morris

Ysapy

Hello everyone!

Another crazy week here in Ysapy.

Elder Manu is still sick and not able to work, so we are still doing these divisions every day to help both areas stay good. It's pretty hard to only work half the day in our area, but we're making it through and helping some people towards baptism so that's pretty cool. I can't believe I've already been here for 3 weeks. That's just crazy. It's probably gone by so quickly because we're always switching areas and everything. It's pretty intense sometimes. We think Elder Manu is going to attempt to go out for this week, but we'll see what happens. It's a mystery! This week was just all crazy every day.

I did recently get a call from a cool family that Elder Sperry and I baptized in Posta Leiva and they are all set to get sealed in the temple sometime during the end of March! Yeah! They told me they are going to ask President Madariaga so that I can go with and watch! Yeah! I'm pretty stoked.

Also, I'm officially past my 18 month mark which is just crazy. I only have 6 months left which is weird. Time is weird.

Even though the week was pretty crazy and all that, I don't ever really have anything to say so for that I apologize. Elder Harward's (my comp) brother got baptized this weekend so that was cool. We're all working hard and have lots of baptisms in the works. It's really nice when the members help. Woo!

I love you all, and I hope that you all have a good week. Keep it up team!

Love,
Elder Morris

Ysapy

Oh hello everyone back home!

Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow. I forgot that it was almost Valentine's day until I found a poster for some party they are having here. Crazy. Everything continues to go quite nicely in Ysapy. We've actually had a pretty interesting week.

It all started with some elders in my district in the other area of Ysapy. One of them has problems with his lungs and actually went home once for it, but got back on the mission to try again. They started acting up again so he got grounded in our house for 2 days. So we got to live in 4 for a little bit, and they'd just chill in our house for the day. They probably managed to rack up quite the cooling bill. (My first house in Paraguay with a little AC box.) So they finally got permiso to leave and go back to work, and the missionary got sick and now they think he might have dengue so now we moved our beds to their house and actually live with them. Woo! They have a lot of people that can get baptized really soon, so instead of just letting all of them drift away, Elder Harward and I decided to pick up the load for both areas and so we help teach their investigators too so that way everyone in Ysapy is happy. We just rotate with the non sick companion and someone stays with the sickly missionary. It makes for some interesting planning but everything is working out. And Elder Harward and I had 7 investigators in church so our side is still doing well! I'm glad we got blessed for helping the other missionaries out. Yeah! We had a cool family come to church, so we'll keep working with them. We also had lots of cool new people that we found and 2 have already come to church and it's just awesome.

Ysapy is doing super well and I'm stoked to stay here for a little while. Hopefully I'm not just here for a change or something dumb. That'd be my luck. And I probably just jynxed myself. Ugh. Anywho everything is doing well. We are working a lot and now meeting twice the amount of people because of the merging areas. It's kind of exciting.

Yeah! Other than that it's just business as normal. It's just hovering around 100 degrees which is never fun, but we're getting used to it and in March it starts to get less freakishly hot so that's good. Yeah! I hope you all have a good week full of excitment and cool things. I love you all!

Love,
Elder Morris

Ysapy

Oh hello everyone!

I never thought it would happen but I've been changed out of Eusebio Ayala. I'm now in an area called Ysapy and it's awesome. It's kind of next to a city, but not really cityish but the branch is really strong here and the members actually want to help so I think it'll be awesome. I'm stoked to be here. My new companion is Elder Harward from California. I don't remember where in Cali but somewhere close to Hollywood. Yeah! Also now I'm a district leader which is kind of neato. It pretty much means I just call more people, but it's kind of exciting.

My first sunday here was pretty neato. They had 5 baby blessings which was insane. The President just invited whoever wanted their kid to get blessed up front and so it was pretty long. I'm hoping next week there aren't as many kids up front.

As far as the work goes, it's all good. I have no idea where anything is here because our area is in like a perfect grid so everything looks the exact same. It's going to take a long time to know where anything is at all. I think with time it'll be fine. We've already had some intense lessons with members bringing up work for the dead and the lost tribes of Israel during the first lesson which is awesome haha. We're going to start briefing him beforehand so he doesn't get so intense. It was pretty funny. The lesson ended up well and that family is coming to church this next sunday for sure. It's neato.

Yeah! I don't really have anything too cool to say. Ysapy is cool and for all who want to know it's right outside the city of Capiata if you want to google it up. We live right behind the chapel that is on Km 21 or 22. I don't remember which one it's on. I love you all and I hope you have a good week! Keep up the faith!

Love,

Elder Morris
